Exploring the Effectiveness of Firm’s Collaborative Capabilities in University-industry Collaboration
Original Research
The collaboration with academia is important for firm to develop new product in the knowledge-intensive industries. Although both firms and universities can gain benefits, activating a joint research collaboration does not necessarily guarantee its success. Geographic proximity, prior relationship or knowledge proximity with academic partners may be insufficient for sustaining an effective collaboration. This study scrutinizes firm’s collaborative capabilities to win the cooperation of academic partners and enhance the inter-organizational coordination in the execution stage of collaboration. Based on the results of multiple-case study, this research would shed light on the management of collaborative innovation and provide practical guidance for managers at firms to develop effective university-industry collaborations.

The Impact of Internet Banking at Times of Pandemic; Customer Experience, Satisfaction, Trust, Loyalty, E-service Quality and Bank’s Financial Performance; An Application on Egyptian Public Banks
Original Research
The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of Internet banking on customer experience, satisfaction, trust, loyalty, E-service quality and financial performance in Egyptian public banks. This study concentrates on public bank’s customers in Egypt as a developing nation in the Middle East, which limits the generalizations of the paper findings to other banks globally. However, the fact that all banks faced similar challenges at times of pandemics and typically adopt common standards in bank financial management implies that the findings are potentially robust for global bank management. Structural Equation Modelling was applied to examine the research hypotheses. There was an evidence of a significant relationship between customer experience and loyalty, which is related to financial performance in Egyptian public banks. The study confirmed the importance of studying consumer behaviour, for the purpose of improving customer services in the banking industry which could have valuable implications for internet banking, bank marketing services, and might positively impact bank financial performance.

Strategic Implications of Carrying out Public Sector Reforms in a National Police Service Organization: An Empirical Investigation of National Police Service in Kenya
Original Research
The study reports the findings of an empirical investigation on the experience of carrying out a public sector reform program in the National Police Service (NPS) in Kenya. The study conceptualized the reform program as an aspect of Organization Development (OD) process and anchored it on the aspects of strategic change. A representative sample of 294 senior officers in the NPS was drawn from the Nairobi Metropolitan Region and a structured questionnaire used to obtain the data. Data was obtained on the extent of implementation of four components of the OD process and the level of performance attained. The findings indicate that the police reforms anchored on the OD model were implemented to a moderate extent and that the corresponding level of performance was at the level of low extent. The four components of OD adopted in the study explain a relatively low percentage of the variation in performance of the NPS (Adj R2=0.35) and while three of the components have a positive effect, OD Diagnosis has a significant negative effect on NPS Performance. The study explained both the level of variation and direction of effect to be associated with the lack of embracing a strategic orientation in designing and implementing the reforms. The findings confirm the theoretical and conceptual literatures advocating for integration of OD and strategic management and identifies the relevant implications for strategic management theory and practice.

Project Resource Planning and Educational Achievements of Orphaned Learners in Public Primary Schools: The Case of Orphans Support Projects in Kisumu East Sub-county, Kisumu County, Kenya
Original Research
Orphan hood is a disheartening life status that no one wishes to ever occur in their family set up because of its adverse effects. Despite the vulnerability of the orphaned learners, every child in Kenya has got a right to quality education that leads to good performance and achievement of Universal Primary Education (UPE). However, limited research is available from orphan support project environments that have examined the relationships between project planning and on orphaned learners’ educational achievements. The purpose of the study was to determine the influence of resource planning on orphaned learners’ educational achievements in Kisumu East Sub County. This study adopted the cross-sectional study design, with a study sample population of 313 orphaned learners, caregivers, teachers, project officers. Stratified random sampling technique was utilized in selecting respondents. Both Self-administered questionnaires and an interview guide were employed in collecting quantitative and qualitative data. Results were presented in table form. Descriptive statistics was adopted in analyzing quantitative data, while Thematic Analysis employed in analyzing qualitative data. The validity of the study was to subjectively assess the correspondence between the individual items and the concept through rating by expert judges. To ensure validity and reliability of the research instruments, pilot testing was conducted in a community-based orphan support project in the neighboring Sub-County in Kisumu. Cronbach alpha at α =0.05 level of significance was used to compute the reliability coefficient of the pre-test instruments. This study was guided by two theories, Theory of change and Bio-ecological systems theory [1,2]. The study is of significance to policy makers and development agencies in community-based orphan support projects. It will also provide critical insights into planning effective orphan support projects that focus on orphaned learners' strengths and capabilities rather than project planning orientations that are likely to reinforce and aggravate poor educational outcomes for the learners who are less advantaged. The study concluded that resource planning, significantly influences orphaned learners’ educational achievements in Kisumu East Sub County. The study recommends that there is need for orphan support project managers in Kisumu East Sub County to ensure that there are strategies in place for guaranteeing orphaned learners’ provision of uniforms, learning resources, tuition materials and school meals. The study also recommends project managers to come up with project resource plan containing every aspect that pertains to every resource necessary for project from beginning to end.
